            HTTP concept include (as the Hyper text part of the name implies) the idea that files can contain reference to other files. whose selection will elicit additional transfer requests and web server machine contains, in addiction to the web page files it can serve,an HTTP daemon, a program that is designed to wait for HTTP reg nests and handle them when they arrive, your web browser is an HTTP Clint, sending regents to server machine. when the browser user enters file request by either "opening" a web file (typing a URL) or clicking on a hyper text link , the browser builds an HTTP request and sends it to the internet protocol address (IP Address) indicated by the URL the HTTP daemon in the destination server machine receives the request and sends back the requested file or files associated with the request.

WEB SITE

A web site is a related collection of world wide web files that includes a begining file called a home page. A company or an individual tell you how to get to their web sites by giving you the adress of there home pages from the homepage,you can get to all the other pages on their site. Ex: - web site for school has the home page adress of http://www.schoolnet.lk/ (the home page address actually includes a special file name like index. html but, as in school's case when a standard defult name is setup, dont have to enter the file name) school net home page address leads to thousand of pages,(but a web site can also be just a few pages)

    since site imples geographical place, a web site can be confused with a web server. a server is a computer that holds the files for one or more sites. A very large web site may be spread over a number of servers in differend geographicul locations.

    A synonym and les frequently used them for web site is "web presence" that them seems to better express the idea that a site is not tied to specific geographical location but is" some where in cyber space "However,
"web site" seems to be used much more freguently.

internet is a global network of computers including both large industrial - strenght servers and the personal computers in homes and busnesses,all chaind together (with network cables or phone lines) and wich all speak common language Ex: web com's servers,the computers at your internet service provider (ISP),servers at university campuses, and your personal computer. when you are connected to the internet. Because there is a common language (refferd as a "protocol") among all these computers, information and files can be transmitted between them, and they understand one another.

     For instance,when you send an email massege from your account at your ISP, the massege does not go directly from one machine to another ( this would require that every computer on the internet be physically connected to every other computer, which would be impossible to setup) but rather it hopes from machine to machine along the chain. each machine look at the destination address in the massage, which must be written in accordance with the atandard protocol, and happens many times before the right direction, this happens many times before the massage finally reaches its destination.
